Company hires industry veterans with a combined 35 years of experience

CUPERTINO, Calif., May 30, 2003 - Counterpane Internet Security, Inc., developer and acknowledged leader of Managed Security Monitoring (MSM) services today announced the additions of Doug Howard and Kevin Senator to its management team. Mr. Howard joins Counterpane as Vice President, Strategy and Product Development, and Mr. Senator joins as Vice President, Worldwide Sales.

Doug Howard is responsible for the strategic business initiatives of Counterpane, and the development of the product and service line. Prior to joining Counterpane, Doug served as Vice President of Security and Business Continuity for AT&T Corp. At AT&T he formed an organization that developed and launched new security services for each of AT&T's business lines of services (Commercial, Government, Wholesale), as well providing direction for the Business Continuity Practice for both internal AT&T and client solutions. Doug started his career in the US Air Force; afterwards, he held positions in Sales, Operations, Engineering, Product Management, and Business Development for companies such as Sprint, FLAG Telecom, Telenet, and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). He founded Technology Research International, Inc. (TRII) in 1989, which was purchased by NBC Broadcasting in 1991.

Kevin Senator is responsible for driving worldwide sales, including expansion into the Japanese marketplace. Before joining Counterpane, Kevin was Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Service, for Servgate Technologies, Inc. Kevin was responsible for all sales and service activities, establishing sales offices in Japan, Hong Kong, China, UK, and the Netherlands. Prior to joining Servgate, Kevin ran sales of professional services for Cisco Systems, Inc. Prior to that, Senator served as Director of Sales for Bluecurve Software, the leader in capacity planning software for distributed networks. In his 20-year plus career, Mr. Senator has been in executive sales management roles and has achieved world-class results. Kevin holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BA from California State University at Fullerton.
